About this tool
Splits a single photo into equal tiles for an Instagram grid post — either a 3-tile strip (a "row" of your grid) or a full 3x3 layout for a nine-post grid takeover. Everything runs in the browser; the photo is never uploaded anywhere.
How to use it
- Choose an image.
- Pick a layout: 3 across, or the full 3x3 grid.
- Click Split image, then download each tile (click a tile) or grab them all at once as a .zip.
Tips
- Post the tiles in the exact order they're numbered — left to right, top row first — so the photo lines up correctly on your profile grid.
- The tool crops to a centered square before slicing, so a portrait or landscape photo will lose some of its edges; crop it the way you want first with the Image Cropper if you need more control over what gets kept.
- Use the 3x3 layout for a single striking photo split across nine consecutive posts, or 3-across for a shorter panorama-style row.

What order do I post the tiles in?
Left to right, top row first — exactly the order the tiles are numbered on screen. Posting in that order keeps the grid aligned on your profile.
Does it crop my photo?
Yes — it crops to a centered square first, since Instagram grid tiles are square, then slices that square evenly into the chosen layout.
