The trade-off to keep in mind
Fitting more pages per sheet shrinks each page down proportionally — fine for a document that's mostly large text or simple diagrams, much less fine for anything with small text or fine detail that becomes genuinely hard to read once four pages are squeezed onto one. Check a 4-up layout at actual print size before running off fifty copies; what looks readable on screen at full zoom can turn illegibly small once four pages share a single sheet of paper.
